Mom (93) wanted an easy way to poach eggs, so we tried these colorful silicone bowls. We followed the instructions to steam a covered pot in boiling water for 5 minutes - and they worked like a charm. A poached egg is the ideal shape to fill an English muffin or a slice of toast.

I bought this to learn how to boil eggs for a visiting friend who is used to a very precise egg boiling process. I was able to exceed their expectations from the first time I used it and it cleans up easily. After many years, she no longer uses the vinegar treatment. I'm not often impressed by new gadgets, but I'm really excited about this one.

I use it to make "round eggs" for muffins like in a famous fast food restaurant. One thing you should do is spray cooking spray on the inside of the rings or your eggs will stick. In this case, just use a knife and you can easily separate the eggs from the rings. I think they would go well with potato pancakes.

It takes time to get the consistency you want, but it worked for me. Easy to clean, easy to use. I just used cooking spray so it doesn't stick and the egg just slides off. It's also easier if you crack the egg while the product is already filled with water. It doesn't get hot, just close the valves, remove any excess water that may have collected and serve.

A silicone brush is included in the kit which is primarily intended to lubricate the cups but I highly recommend it as the oil doesn't stay on the sides where it needs it most. Apply solid or coconut oil instead (whatever stays where it's applied), otherwise the egg whites will stick to the sides. Nevertheless, the egg white does NOT soak, so "just throw it in the dishwasher". as I said, it doesn't work either; You have to clean them first. I return them and cook them in mugs in the microwave…
