Our dog is afraid of separation and pees in the cage when we are not at home . His legs and hair will soak up all his urine until we can bathe him when we return. We recently purchased this product and have only been using it for two days but have seen much more improvement in our dog. His urine would just flow right into the area under the net and his body and legs wouldn't get dirty at all. We didn't have to bathe him these days. Wouldn't buy a crate without a guard

If you only have one puppy and have a few towels on the tray until the puppy is stolen into the house, you probably don't need a guard unless you are traveling with one Dog in a cage or you will not cage the puppy when it grows up. That is, if you are going to buy a cage and only intend to use it for a very short time. If you are going to use these cages for anything else, you will need a trellis.
