Not even remotely functional. Do not buy until the spout cover issue is resolved. The lid is smaller than the spout and is threaded to screw onto the spout. However, the end of the spout is not threaded! You can't close the spout to just let your gas evaporate into the reservoir. This is a criminally bad product. It would be nice if the design were changed to include a spout that can be covered with a lid.

These are the worst parts I've come across and I've used a lot. I keep borrowing gas cartridges and rarely get them back, but that's ok, they reciprocate in other ways. But I end up buying more gas cartridges and more nozzles, but they come back. They are short, not flexible, the caps hardly screw onto the glass (with pouring spout) and are generally very cheap and of poor quality.

I wish I had bought this a long time ago! I have 3 five gallon gas bottles and each has its own spout. The oldest of these is the handy spout, but the other two had very unusual venting and safety mechanisms that required almost 3 hands to operate and the fuel always flowed out slowly. Why? These new replacement nozzles fit easily into old containers without leaking. I was even able to use the original cap on one of them. I just swapped the spout. I have 8 modern crappy crazy gas tanks that I converted to old school common sense asshole and fill! I have basically $21 rubber washers to start with. I have 3 different types of 5 gallon gas cans. Coleman, Blitz & Briggs & Stratton. I tried it on all 3. The threads on neither the large black nor the yellow collar matched the threads on any of the 3 types of gas cylinders so I used the original and just went with the clear nozzle. I put it on, tipped it and flowed, tightened it, it still flowed. The flange on the clear spout is not wide enough to fit the neck of the glass. Now I can't go back

I've replaced all of my "eco-friendly leaking" gas cartridges and stopped dripping gas on my hands, lawn mower, herbivore, shoes, the sides of my car, etc. for at least a few months.
