Runs on Unraid for internals

Runs great on Unraid 6.9.2 on my ASRock B550M Pro4 board in x1 slot. I haven't noticed any slowdown when reading/writing arrays or rebuilding parity. I only have 1 4TB drive attached but plan to add more in the future. Judging by the numbers, if your x1 slot is actually PCIe 3.0, you shouldn't see any slowdown when connecting 4 magnetic drives. There is also a blue flashing LED on the board in case you are interested in the case backlight. It's not me because you know I have a life.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Repair

Not the best choice for older Windows

Got this for a NAS build. Windows 7 and 8 will not boot with the card installed. The bracket is also offset about 1/4 inch, just enough that you can't secure it when the card is in the PCI slot.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • For older

Pretty happy with computer components

So far I am very satisfied with this product. I use it because my motherboard has 3 fewer SATA ports than I thought it would. I didn't read the fine print here. I have 2 hard drives and a disk reader. One hard drive is essentially file storage, the other is an old 2TB 2013 drive from my last PC. So far I haven't seen any bottlenecks with this card. The old hard drive works as usual. The new HDD works perfectly. Of course I don't do anything too intense with them and not all at once. For Windows

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Infinitely slow

It works! Computers and accessories

This device worked perfectly, basically plug and play. I can finally connect my additional drives to my NAS! I just plugged 3 into it and didn't notice much difference in speed compared to plugging directly into my PC's motherboard slots.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • May cause injury

Card works great but cables are short

Card works great but the cables provided are 4 inches too short to connect the card to the drives in the drive bay. It seems a bit crazy to include short cables when it's obvious that longer cables would be needed to access the card on the back of the motherboard. Without the useless cables that came with it, I would have given it a good 5 stars.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Nothing here

Fantastic product inside

Works great. The SATA connectors are hot-pluggable. So if you're staging drives as you can afford, no reboot is required. The 4 included SATA cables work great and it has a hard drive activity indicator. In my opinion a fantastic product. This product does not require a driver. It works fine on my TrueNAS system. Not tested with desktop operating system.

Pros
  • Great choice
Cons
  • sad packaging
