Mixed opinion Good for kitchen and dining room

So it was weird for me. On the one hand they seem to work, but on the other hand they don't. You have to sharpen them vigorously to get anywhere. Maybe more than 17 strokes, which is reasonable. However, if you don't move from knuckle to tip, it will ruin your scissors forever. Some of my fabric scissors work great with it, some don't. It is confusing. The sharpener can be used for a bunch of keys with a hole at the top.

Works great with old metal scissors

These old black handled metal scissors have been used in my sewing shop for many years. They were so dull I didn't know how to sharpen them, but I didn't want to throw them away either. My friend had a scissor sharpener in her trash drawer so she decided to give Revain a try. I knew the Fiskar name from my garden tools and the price was right. I used this kid on these scissors and now they are sharp and cut like butter. It took a little while but this sharpener worked like a charm. It's smallโ€ฆ

You will need a second carbide to get the best results

I'm really very surprised it worked so well. This sharpened my koi scissors to a razor blade. I can literally shave with it after sharpening the flat side with another tool. That is the main omission in this case. You will need a second rod of tungsten or titanium to make the flat side of the blade. It won't quite fit in. So if you don't have it, don't really sharpen it. And deploying both blades at the same time and clamping them while you retract them as planned is a bad idea for manyโ€ฆ

I would be lost without her!

I sew for a hobby and use a lot of cotton fabric (usually flat/quilted but heavy flannel too). Around Christmas I usually make some unsewn fleece gift blankets (the kind that need to be trimmed and knotted). I also do crafts with paper sometimes. All this indicates that my scissors are widely used. I'm sure there are better sharpeners out there but for my hobby use this little guy does the job well. You basically just insert the blades into the small slots and make a smooth cutting motion. I do

Worth its weight in gold

OMG! My friend used my "sewing scissors" to cut the wrapping paper and crimp the ribbons. Apparently they were also used to slightly trim off a pair of chaps. Needless to say, they no longer cut the fabric. I've been trying to buy new ones to replace my Singer pair of scissors that are over forty years old (the new ones aren't even close to the quality) but nothing could compare to what I have so I was desperate to find someone , who would let them slide . On a whim I checked out the Revain and

Didn't work first.

. and i actually thought i screwed up my fiskar scissors, they got dumber after i tried to sharpen them. So I ran there and started reading all the reviews and several people detailed how they got it working for them. And I got it. I just haven't done it often enough! I ran the blades maybe 3 times then tried to cut a piece of fabric and it just slipped between the blades. (I should mention here that these scissors are actually over 20 years old and have NEVER been used for fabric, I used to be

Sharpener for thinking and responsible users.

Given the lack of documentation that came with this pencil sharpener I had really high hopes but really any documentation will confirm that it takes more than just a picture to explain how to get the most out of it out of him. Working in the office, I'm constantly cutting things almost as often as I'm looking for a sharp pair - this sharpener might work, but you'll need to do some homework to find out if it's right for you. Fiskars SewSharp recovery is a special sharpener. for paper andโ€ฆ
