Great idea. My cat pees on the back of the box so I am looking for high backed litter boxes as her urine has leaked through the bottom/lid seam of a closed box in the past. Terrible! I wish I could give 0 stars! My rating is based on using a crystal-like litter that has been completely changed and cleaned weekly. The first time I washed the earbuds with soap and water, they smelled awful. After reading the Modkat website, he suggests cleaning it with a "special" product ($18) that I bought that didn't do anything about the smell. Today (2 months after buying the insert) the front of the bag broke. This liner is very difficult to clean, stinks and a waste of money.

This is a replacement earphone. I have used the first one with two cats for over a year and am now switching to crystal litter. I'm replacing the pad as the original pad wasn't cleaned well and wasn't fully waterproof when I tried to soak it clean to remove dust. (I wouldn't have to clean this way if I didn't change the brand of litter.) I bought the insert with the tray in early January. I liked it very much. The lining was very durable and I felt it was definitely thick enough to take the scratches it has to endure. I read the manufacturer's recommendation for how long I can go without replacement, which is about a month depending on how "hard" you scratch.
