I drive alone and it was pretty reliable in alerting me when cars were approaching. The beep is important as it tells me I need to improve my situational awareness. I still use the mirror and look over my shoulder, but it's a great warning and compliment. I connected it to my Fenix 5 (handlebar mounted) and they work great together.
