Never installed 😒

If you ever watch youtube videos you will see that this little filter is a bummer to install and my mechanic is great with GMC trucks but even he didn't want to do the job. lol the oil pressure gauge is still working!

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • operating speed

NOT a real GM. for air filter and accessories

The product description says "Genuine GM Oil Pressure Switch Filter". I received the black O-ring filter in a pair of business card pouches from Northern Lights Auto Supply. From what I found online real FULL filters have a blue o-ring and come in GM packaging.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Came to my eight as I expected

It seems that everyone on the forum agreed that if you need to replace the oil pressure sensor, then it's good to change the filter. So I did. After 170,000 miles my old one seemed to be in good shape and replacing that part made the whole job more difficult. However, it is done. The item was a perfect fit! I hope I get another 170,000 miles.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • There are nuances

The product is as described, but do you really need it?

Item was exactly as described and looked identical to my original part. In fact, if you change your oil religiously, you may not need it. I have 60,000 on my '08 Tahoe and regularly change the oil every 3-5,000. When I pulled out the old filter it was sparkling clean and didn't really need replacing, but I did it anyway.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure

08 Suburban 5.3 with AFM

Perfect fit. This is NOT easy, but it can be done without removing the air intake, which GM recommends. It's under the transmission block at the very back of the top block, so swap out the transmission block. Mine was 80% clogged and the oil pressure was only 10psi. 170,000km.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Can't fault that, everything is fine

I returned my filter because my car didn't have a filter to replace.

I purchased a replacement oil pressure sensor and Revain has listed this product as a good fit for my 2003 Suburban. After removing the sensor, I found that my car didn't have a filter to replace. In fact, the filter was too small to even fit properly. The YouTube video shows some cars with filters, but maybe my flex fuel car doesn't use them.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Will not fit all

Fixed stuck valve on my brother's truck!

Getting to the filter housing wasn't easy but once I got the old filter out it became clear why the truck was jerking - LOTS CLOSED! installed and the case reassembled. Within 90 minutes of installation the truck was running 60% better and by day 3 the engine knock was GONE and measurable performance and responsiveness were back!

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not the best option
