Excellent material! on Solder

Expensive but worth it. Flows like water. Used when installing a new R410 air conditioner. Use flux sparingly, copper should be clean. Should be sold in smaller quantities.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • High price

Better than soldering to HVAC

confirm that this product is better than soldering! Holding pressure on 700 psi copper fittings is easy. No leaks no problems. Soldering weakens the copper but not the stybrite.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Crumpled

Soldering alternative

Used this in place of soldering my AC harness. In this case, the supply of nitrogen can be dispensed with when soldering with soft solder. Used in the 410a system and is excellent for higher pressures.

Pros
  • Permanent finish
Cons
  • Updates

Ideal for a range of ventilation and air conditioning ducts

Very expensive but works great. The unusual melting point really helps fill large gaps. Rated at 10,000psi so it will last forever on sweaty HVAC lines. To seal large gaps, simply heat the sleeve above melting point and apply solder. Once you have decided that there is enough solder in the joint, turn off the heat and add solder. Soon it will thicken and fill in the gaps.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • There are drawbacks

Stronger than lead tin 40/60

This is a great combination. The solder flows very well - heat carefully and do not overheat the flux. It works great with a propane torch, just take your time. i really like it I use braze and MAPP gas for materials that can withstand "red hot" heat, but this material works well at temperatures slightly higher than lead solder.

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Good. You must solder with a nitrogen purge to prevent contaminants from getting into the lines. No problem anymore. This melts at a much lower point but gives a stronger bond without annealing the copper lines to keep them from softening. Watch some videos before trying. Try a few joints before delving into AC power lines. Not exactly the same as sweating with standard solder, but close. Worked like a champ and my heat pump is working great. N2 is not required. Without oxy/acetylene. Requires…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

Great product for mini split leaks

I have used Stay-brite 8 to fix leaks in my mini split and my friends mini splits. Drain the R410a refrigerant from the pre-charged compressor (there are 2 set screws to loosen after you have assembled and evacuated the system). The system is to be sealed with an O-ring in the grub screws, which are tightened with a small shoulder. Both of our systems were leaking and from what I see online it's not uncommon for this type of valve to leak after a while. We removed the set screw (I had to remove

  • GOLS certified
