Hayden Automotive Premium Fan Clutch 2917 Review

My truck needed a new fan clutch. Did a little research and found this Hayden model. Good price and mostly the reviews focus on the noise it makes. Well, my truck isn't afraid of sneaking up on people. Is it a bit noisy? Yes. Does it work as it should? Like a winner. Money well spent in my opinion.

I bought it as a replacement while I was adjusting the timing. I found the original hard. The new block feels stiffer than the old one, but smoother. I was thinking about upgrading Fan E, so I turned the fan off completely to take advantage of the cold weather. The engine is noticeably quieter without the fan, but my gas mileage (using the Scan Gauge II) hasn't changed, and I could say 17-18mpg on a mixed highway driving a 2006 F150 5.4L. I cannot give this product zero stars because it is not optional. This product is garbage! Please. Please. Please. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! I can't stress this enough. The clutch does not work. It stays on all the time. It doesn't have a thermostat. Always on, all the time. If you want your truck to sound like a Boeing 747 flying under your hood, please by all means buy this.
