Good quality if you work for it

When the clamp arrived the triangular block had its set screw loosened so it fell apart immediately. 2 screws and some red locktite quickly solved this problem. As many have said the fences are not true, 0.030 inch difference top to bottom. I took 2 pieces of 28ga steel and made spacers that go half way down. Insert them so that they stay in place. Now everything is stretched evenly and vertically. It seems solid enough for amateurs, easy to use, worth the price but it takes some work.

Pros
  • For welding perfect 90 degree elbows on square and round pipes, elbows and ducts.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Falls apart right out of the box

Opened package, the head (moving) part of the vise fell off immediately. Tightened. It was easy to get to it just had to remove the bezel the problem was that one of the tiny phillips head screws holding it had a stamped head that was flat and off center also the screw holes on the lid were badly tapped which is it difficult Replacing the screws of the lid is difficult I assembled it but I'm not sure if it can withstand heavy use I give it two stars One because it's really square and the other…

Pros
  • Product packaging size: 14.25"L x 10.25"W x 2.25"H
Cons
  • Negative imprint

This angle is made very cheaply and imprecisely. I used it to weld a 1" square tube that was supposed to be square and flat. This square doesn't do the job and isn't accurate. When you clamp two pieces together they twist slightly out of plane. I thought about it, keeping it for non-critical purposes but I think I'll just go back and invest $20 for a better square. Also. I'm skeptical that this is actually a Hobart product. There is no Hobart trademark anywhere on the square. FYI - I use a lot…

Pros
  • Features a floating head and rotating spindle that adjusts to level and hold workpieces.
Cons
  • Good, but not great

Not worth the metal it's made of.

Base angle is true 90 degrees, but vertical surfaces deviate from true vertical. When you put two square sheets together, they meet at a 90 degree angle, but both are tilted outward. When the lower parts converge, the upper ones are separated. This makes this product completely unusable. My guess is that they narrowed the clamp to make demoulding easier, probably they intended to take the final step of milling it to a true vertical, then an executive decided to save some money and take that…

Pros
  • For welding perfect 90 degree angles on square and round pipes, elbows and ducts.
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Instantly falls apart

Opened package, the head (moving) part of the vise fell off immediately. The set screw holding it has not been tightened. It's easy to access, you just have to remove the lining. The problem was that one of the tiny Phillips screws holding it in place had a stamped head that was flat and off-center. Also, the holes for the cover screws were poorly tapped, making it difficult to reinstall the cover screws. I assembled it but I'm not sure if it will hold up to heavy use. I give him two stars. One

  • So far so good

This square is very cheap and inaccurate. I used it to weld 1" square tubing it should have been square and flat. This square doesn't do the job and isn't accurate. When you clamp two pieces together they twist out of plane a little. I've got over that contemplated keeping it for non-critical purposes but i think i'll just refund 20 bucks and invest to upgrade the place also i'm skeptical that this is actually a Hobart product types of woodworking tools, welding etc. I think I'm good with…
