Worked better than the HF version

Decent quality for a thin (1/16) 6011. Worked better than the HF version. Starts normally (but not easy, at least for me). Reboots were decent. But it burns up quickly. Works well for sheet metal without blowing holes if you're not moving fast enough, giving you a little extra time to work (Used to attach 2-piece 5/8" hinged hinges to 14ga square tube posts for repairing welding metal gates) where I thought 6013 or 7014 wouldn't penetrate deep enough. If you lower the amperage (50A +/- 5A or…

Great for low amperage

I have been welding heavy steel up to 1/2 inch a few years ago and have increased the amperage on my welder to over 200 on a few occasions, especially when cutting where I could Can't turn on the burner. I don't have a really good shop anymore, I needed a very small welder for small jobs that I could plug into 120v at home. Well, a small welder that draws 70-90 amps is perfect for these bars. I was able to fix a lawn mower deck, cracked fenders on my trailer, and a few 1/16" corners with a good

Didn't work well with hobby welder and 1/8 " steel

I recently bought a 120v arc welder to fix broken patio furniture. Have these electrodes along with 6013 1/16" electrodes from Harbor Freight (HF) purchased. Tried some fillet welds with 1/8" flat steel for practice/fun after refurbishing furniture. The HF electrodes worked very well (at least as well as you'd expect from a home welder), didn't stick and had good penetration "These electrodes were harder to work with. They were harder to start and jammed much more often, even at the highest amp

Great for low amperage

A few years ago I was welding heavy steel up to 1/2 inch thick, in some cases upping the amperage of my welder 200+ edges where I just couldn't put a flashlight. I didn't have a really good shop anymore, I needed a very small welding machine for small jobs that I could connect to 220 V house voltage. Well a little welder, the 70-90 amp is ideal for these rods. I was able to fix a lawn mower deck, cracked fenders on my trailer, and a small 1/16" elbow with a good weld. They burn fairly quickly…

  • Quick Guide

6011 is a great all round rod. Penetrates (to a limited extent) into paintwork, rust and dirt. Excellent for weather conditions where shielded gas welding is not possible. With the right technique, both relatively thick and thin metal can be welded effectively, especially if you can slide over thin metal. The 6010 will do all of that, but the 6011 will work on AC and inverter machines that often won't work with the 6010. The 6011 is a really great all round rod. These 1/16" bars meet all of the
