Make sure your system does not have an RF module.

This is an update to the non-alphanumeric keyboards that also includes RF functionality built into the keyboard. Make sure there is no RF box in or near your actual system box. If you already have an RF box and try to use RF on this keyboard, you will get competing signals and the wireless function will not work properly.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Great replacement for my broken 6150RF

Great replacement for my broken 6150RF that didn't pick up wireless sensors. Just remove the existing unit, screw on the new frame (larger) and reconnect the cables to my Ademco Vista 20P. No programming required. The alarm company changed the sensor tags (remotely) so I no longer have to remember area codes. Love it and delivered on time as expected.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

So far, so good! for keyboards

Product says 'open box' but looks brand new inside box. All boxed items are provided. Fast Leaf. There are no instructions. Must look online. Replaced by Panel 6150rf. Connect yellow, black, red and green wires to 6160rf. All programming zones are loaded from the master panel (Vista 15-p). The speaker is good, the keys feel solid, the messages are much more detailed compared to the 6150rf. It's too early to talk about reliability. Hope it's solid! I would recommend buying.

Pros
  • Solid finish
Cons
  • Faulty

4 wires. piece of cake set. Programming is another matter. if you don't know. You need to learn programming as the instructions that come with it are not very informative. Luckily. Tons of videos on YouTube and websites that are detailed in a more user friendly way. Compatible with Vista 20p and other Honeywell panels. The ability to add wireless sensors and an alpha display are the main advantages of this keyboard. Wireless connectivity makes it easy to expand your alarm system and the 6160RFโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Minor problems

Simple Update from 6150

This device has replaced the 6150 RF Keyboard (not Alpha). It uses the same mounting holes so all you have to do is unscrew the old plate and screw this one on. No holes need to be re-drilled. It's the same 4 wire setup, just connect the RBYG wires from the old panel to this new one. I believe the default keyboard layout for Vista 15p is 16. To set the new keyboard layout hold down 1 and 3 (after connecting the wires). He will ask you for the location of the keyboard. Enter "16" as the defaultโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Build Confidence
Cons
  • Updates

Great for programming and calling better than 6150.

I had a 6150RF in the master bedroom and a regular 6150 by the garage entrance. This was difficult to program because you are basically programming a blank screen and the beeps on the 6150 were annoyingly loud even though I tried covering the speaker with paper towels and duct tape. The 6160's that I bought are really easy to use and make the system easy to program because with alpa you can see what it's asking for. The chimes are also more soothing. The LED screen is bigger and easier to seeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Enjoy
Cons
  • No power
