The storage tray is suitable for small items. The tape on it doesn't hold them in place. Be ready to add your tape or other means of securing the item.

I didn't like the tape or its bulkiness. I thought it was rubber but it turned out to be cheap plastic with rough injection molding marks. I came back and got the central one instead. Also lock the chassis number, wait until you need it and have to laboriously remove it and then somehow reinstall it.

I just installed this in my TJ. The idea of adding extra storage space to an unused part of the dashboard is really smart. However, before sticking the tablet on, I checked to see if there was indeed a problem reading the VIN, as another reviewer wrote. Of course, the VIN is completely blocked. If I ever had to remove the center console to fit a new radio, do wiring work, etc. I would have to try and pull the tray out.
