The factory cable ends are completely worn out. It wasn't the easiest install, but it wasn't the worst I've encountered either. And the problem was in the factory cable and not in this piece. Now that they're installed, they'll easily last the life of a truck.

These little spade lugs are a real life saver. They fit perfectly and save you the hassle of buying new cables (which do the same thing and eventually break anyway) that cost over $100. I recommend watching a YouTube video of your particular year model to see how easy it is to get in the door and install it. They fit perfectly on my F-250.

Works great, no modifications and made to measure exactly. You need to widen the slot where the cable goes in with a pair of netting grommets and push it back in with channel locks. Sand or file one side of the old plastic cable ends almost to the end and pull them off with your fingers. They're a little tight to slide over the cable, but with a little lube they stay on.

Perfect repair for my 2506 F250. Ford should use them at the factory. There are many installation videos on 'Tube. You may have to pry them apart with a flathead screwdriver to fully attach them to the cable, but that's no big deal. a few hundred $$$ stealing requests for new latch builds (no work!).

My tailgate hasn't been opened in months and I'm tired of moving the seat back and forth to get things out from behind the seat. Both rear doors stopped working about a week apart. I struggled at first and almost gave up as I couldn't slide the parts into the sheath far enough. The cable was always too short to work. Then I realized what needs to be done to make them work perfectly. There are no instructions but there are many videos on YouTube on how to do this
