That's great, but there's a downside.

I really like this ball head. It's small and very slick, the only downside is that the bottom plate is almost completely smooth and offers very little grip, requiring you to screw your head to a support (monopod/tripod/slider) every now and then during long shoots. All the other heads I have don't, and that's because the underside is riddled with grooves that provide a secure grip.

Best Travel Video Head

Like other reviewers, I give this moving head top marks for portability and ease of use. There might be a few better heads *cough* Manfrotto *cough*, but they're all heavier or not as functional. This gives super extra bonus points for the fact that the main handle can be moved from either side. For all left-handers this will be a godsend, and for those of us who are comfortable with both hands it's in the odd situation where it matters which side of the button it is (think tight spaces) where…

Travel tripod head I've searched

So far the best I've tried that doesn't sacrifice too much. If size isn't an issue, I'd say the Manfrotto 502ah is a better option for the same price. If you're looking for the smallest, lightest head with most of the same features and near-identical resistance, then this is it. You buy this head for its portability. Anything below that like Manfrotto befree is rubbish, anything above that you should use a proper fluid head like Manfrotto Nitrotech or Satchler. Incidentally, the Panasonic S1 at

Best suited for a fluid head on a standard tripod base

I have had several pan/tilt heads and they were not smooth or did not adjust easily to the required force. There are no such problems with the ifootage video head. Very smooth and easy setting of just the right tension that benefits from fluid resistance even when the tension is released. The included long plate and the mechanism for adjusting the position and tension on the mounting plate work very well to properly balance a large camera, lens or spotting scope. Of course there are better…

Easily portable lightweight fluid head

Working primarily in New York, I try to pack as lightly as possible on public transit. I got this head for a lighter tripod rig that weighs less and packs less than my main rig (Sachtler Ace XL on Miller CF sticks). This Komodo head on Sirui N-3204x alignment rods provides just enough tension for smooth pan and tilt for my minimal GH5 setup (movcam cage, 8" 15mm rods, rose grips, small shoulder pad, SmallHD Focus) . The pan tension is high for my full rig, but the counterweight isn't enough for

Just so impressed with iFootage!

Well I screwed up again! I bought an IFOOTAGE TC6S and tried it out by putting the camera on a tripod and aligning it with the top of the main stand. Not correct! It only took me a day to realize that I desperately needed a ball head and it seemed logical to buy one that actually fits and can be used with this tripod and the two parts of the kit are made for each other . Actually, I wouldn't want to use any other ball head. Construction and quality are rare in a device in this price range. I…

Actually good in real life, not just YouTube videos.

I purchased this and many other products after seeing a demonstration of these products by one of my favorite YouTubers. After that I got a bunch of videos in my feeds with all sorts of little channels talking about how good these products are and I could smell the marketing campaign. While there's nothing wrong with promoting their products, I feel like YouTubers aren't being very honest unless they're paying for products and pretending they just bought something. In any case. I'm happy to…

A good head with a serious flaw.

This fluid head offers smooth pan and tilt. It is designed for light to medium sized cameras up to 11 pounds. Unfortunately, the balance spring is too stiff for the cameras it was designed for. The spring is intended to protect the user from slowly tilting the camera down (or back) when the fluid head is not locked and the cameraman releases the pan/tilt lever. However, the tripod head has the opposite problem. If the camera operator releases the pan/tilt lever while the camera is tilted up or…

Good quality fluid head and tripod

Ordered separately, received Gazelle TA5 tripod first. Revain was out of stock for the liquid head and I received it about 2 weeks later when it was back in stock. I like the tripod very much. I got an aluminum tripod instead of a carbon fiber tripod. I like something firmer, more permanent, personal preference. Yes, it's heavier, but I can handle it to get nice, clean, crisp images. Also, I train well, I don't need a gym :o). There are rubber inserts on the bottom of the tripod legs for…
