Works well for a small tank

I use this for a small 20g grow tank. I decided to build a mini reef. I was surprised at how much he removed. Although a bit noisy, it works very well for what I need it for. The microbubbles stop after about 3-4 days. just be patient Easy to assemble. Half of the system is in the tank, so make sure that's okay. Reliable skimmer! in Fish & Aquatic Pets

I have to tell you that the negative reviews put me off at first. Eventually I gave up and tried this skimmer. Not only is it very powerful, it pulls the skimmer out of water that is darker than any other skimmer I've used before. Overall it took about 5 days for the item to break in enough to work effectively. Not bad if you're on a tight budget

Due to a lot of conflicting reviews I was a little hesitant to purchase this item. But I'm on a tight budget (I know riff and cheap don't usually mix), but I decided to take a chance. Not amazing but functional and up to a third the price of a 'good' skimmer

If you're thinking of DIY, think about it and remember I've even bought used and never used skimmers before have . Before the change I had very low performance.
