I've had this hammer since I was 16.

I've had this hammer since I was 16 years old. Now I'm 19 and this beast is still going strong. Use it for any job, be it framing or molding.

Pros
  • The milled surface keeps the hammer from slipping off the nail head
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Good hammer for hand tools

This was new to me as I hadn't seen an Irwin hammer before but I liked the price and style of the hammer so thought I'd give it a go a try and I'm glad I did. Like my other Irwin instruments, this is actually a good quality instrument with a nice feel. It may be heavier than some grooming but I prefer the frame in this series and definitely prefer cleaver style handles. This is a good hammer for a good price.

Pros
  • Curved hickory handle for strength and durability
Cons
  • Requires socket

worth your money.

I love this hammer. I'm not entirely sure if it's balanced because the head is significantly heavier than the handle. But I'm not an expert on hammers like everyone else here. I like to use mine to break things. Like nails. And sometimes fingers. For those wondering, 21 ounces is heavy enough to hurt like hell if you pinch your fingers. You can't do that with a light titanium hammer. My favorite part about this hammer would be reading the reviews before buying it here on Amazon. It's literally…

Pros
  • Heavy duty forged steel head
Cons
  • Not sure
