This knife is easy to like

very good, cuts bread. it could be a bread knife. I wonder if they knew. Cooking is mostly vegetarian melt but there was some ham. cuts vegetables and cheese so nicely. I've also tried it on steak. cut fat. Nice. Good blade strength. It gets very spicy. stay sharp. the time will show. I really like this knife

Pros

Cons

A very useful bread knife

Of course not a first class Zwilling Henckel knife, but it is very sharp and durable, does its job perfectly and at an affordable price. I'm a bit of a knife snob (my chef's knife is a Zwilling M66), I've lowered my standards for something as mundane as a bread knife, but I have no regrets. She neither.

Pros
  • Like all others so far
Cons
  • The list is long.

Cuts bread effortlessly

Received my Henckels Forged Premio bread knife this morning. I washed it right after taking it out of the box (which was very difficult to open and about as sharp as the knife itself). I cut a piece of bread from the night before and the knife practically skidded over the bread. The balance of the knife felt very good in my hands. Extremely sharp - watch your fingers! I am very happy that I bought this knife and will probably replace the rest of my knives with similar JA Henckels products.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Great bread knife, no matter the price.

I didn't originally want to buy this knife. It's not made in Germany, it's stamped, not forged, and it's not the Henckels knife I prefer. That being said, this is a really great bread knife, no matter the price. I read somewhere that you invest in knives other than a bread knife, which is why I gave it a try in the first place. That was the best $15 I've spent in a long time. A very sharp, strong and well balanced knife that reflects the quality of the more expensive Henckels lines.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Reliability

Rust and traces of grinding, but the price does not bite

The knife arrived with a spot of rust on the blade. The top of the knife was not polished and the rough grind of the grinding wheel was clearly visible. The rivets are not centered on the handle. The quality this company is so famous for doesn't shine here. I'm a bit disappointed apart from the fact that there was a 55% discount. At this price I'm still satisfied. Just note that the person who made this knife was probably still in training as it definitely slipped through quality control.

Pros
  • New in my collection
Cons
  • Exchange possible

6 months used. I suggest you look elsewhere.

I bought this knife because it goes with my current Henckel Intls set. I had higher expectations of this knife. This is of course a Chinese handle, but I figured this knife would cut bread more efficiently. I bake artisan sourdough that requires a very efficient bread knife to cut. The thickness of the blade keeps the knife from bending, but the teeth aren't sharp enough to cut. This knife rips through my beautiful loaves of bread and makes slicing very frustrating. I'm going to buy a new bread

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Modern

Now my life is over!

Well, at least my set of Henckels is finished now. In fact, I did not need this knife, but there was an empty slot in the block and. Worked well but not for long. This big, sturdy knife is perfect: it cuts through bagels like a chainsaw and is big enough to cut through the largest loaf of bread. I haven't used it on soft bread but I'm sure a light touch will do the job. Well done Henkels. Your knives are the pride of my kitchen (along with my cast iron shaft) and have held up great for years…

Pros
  • I'm looking forward to it
Cons
  • Could hurt
