Description of ๐Ÿ”ช 20x15x2.25 John Boos Block RA02-GRV Maple Wood Edge Grain Reversible Cutting Board with Juice Moat

John Boos Block RA02-GRV Maple Wood Edge Grain Reversible Cutting Board with Juice Moat measures 20 inches long, 15 inches wide and 2.25 inches thick. Made in the USA: Each John Boos Butcher Block and Cutting Board is proudly made in Effingham, Illinois by skilled craftspeople using time honored techniques since 1887. Butcher block is made from sustainably sourced, hand-selected Northern Hard Rock Maple Wood- widely recognized as one of finest, most durable food preparation surfaces in the world. This board is reversible, both sides are flat and can be used as cutting surfaces. Integrated handgrips on each end make lifting, moving and cleaning this large board easy for all users. (RA boards weigh over 20 lbs). The RA series cutting boards by John Boos are hearty boards that measure a generous 2.25 inches thick. They have earned a reputation as a customer favorite. Care: hand wash and dry. Apply John Boos Mystery Oil regularly (more often in dry climates, and when the board is brand new), use John Boos Board Cream to seal the wood surface after applying Mystery Oil. Oil and cream sold separately on Amazon. The Professional Choice: Often imitated, Boos Boards and blocks are the preferred cutting surfaces of top chefs and restaurants around the world. Safe for fine cutlery: Wooden cutting boards are easier on knives than plastic boards (which can dull knives more quickly).

Breaking block good for kitchen and dining room

The block breaks into several pieces. Yes, I covered it with natural oil. We've only used it twice and it creaks a lot. We can no longer use it due to liquid seeping through the cracks. I don't think I can return it. Can you help me in any way?

massive explosion-proof cutting board (not splitting yet)

The thing is very thick and heavy. Not very convenient for moving around the kitchen or washing in the sink as it's so big. Definitely doesn't warp that easily, but mine did crack a bit on one of the edges about a week after purchase, although I do oil and wax it regularly (every week or so). This doesn't affect usability, but it's a noticeable stain that can sometimes be sniffed out with a finger or a sponge.

  • Best in its niche

  • High price

Butcher Block.disappointed

I am very disappointed with this product, we took so much care, bought butter and took extra care of the meat block. My complete disappointment is that the meat block cracked. I can't believe I spent money on this unit thinking it would last for years. How can this product be so bad that it has so many cracks after only a few months. I would be really happy if someone would contact me about this, I would be very annoyed if this is not resolved. This item is a good brand name and expensive

Pros
  • Looking good
Cons
  • No performance

I buy Revain products almost every other day and I never write reviews. Long story short, this board started falling apart after about a year. religious, and I've only used this board 2 hours a year. In fact, I think I "might" oil too much, if that's even possible. I've also bought smaller boards and they seem fine, but this board and another large board (18" x 12" x 1.5") started cracking after about a year. BAD, BAD product. I thought others who left the same warning mistreated their boardsโ€ฆ

Falling apart despite proper care

This would have been a great board although believe me it wasn't handled properly during the manufacturing stages. Received the board, very dry so oiled. A week later I noticed small cracks where the board was pressed. became more aggressive with the lubrication and did both sides twice a week. Now it's been about 3 months since I bought it and the board is more or less useless for slicing meat because there are 2 big compartments crossing the juice tray. It would have been a good board if itโ€ฆ

  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

I haven't had many opportunities to use my board before, but have enjoyed carving it out for the time I have. Solid construction, with due care I should be able to pass it on to one of my daughters. At 16# weight, I found that the grooves cut along the edges were not enough to easily rotate the board between flat/grooved sides. , so I added a pair of cast iron handles (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IQNVBD2) to the ends as shown. They add almost a pound to an already heavy block, but theโ€ฆ

I was hoping the bad reviews were an accident

Ordered this as a Christmas present for my husband who loves to cook and has always said he would love one of these as they are so highly regarded. I was a little nervous about the bad reviews but brushed them off because this branded board has such a high reputation. Lo and behold I received the board the day I ordered it and straight out of the box there is a notch on the top with a sap groove and on the rear flat side there are natural cracks in the wood similar to what you would find from a

Simply the best! - Cutlery and knife accessories

I can't tell you how many cutting boards I've tried; always looking for the perfect. I've used everything from corian board to those flimsy plastic things and have never been happier with a purchase in my life. I've owned this board for almost a year now and all I can say is this board is great! It's very strong and heavy so it doesn't move across my countertop (especially with a kitchen towel underneath), my knives love it as it doesn't dull the edges and it's beautifully made and durable.
