2 slots "top right" are not "locked". I've tried different sized knives fixed in different slots. I tried several times to press and open the lock. Knives can be pulled out of these two slots. I contacted the seller who immediately refunded the money.

Very effectively protects knives from children. Large standard knives won't fit, but are good enough to feel secure. The plastic is still holding up, I think maybe in a few years it won't be. It's difficult to say. It is impossible to clean the inside, so the knives must be very clean and dry before installation.

The holder is great for longer/larger knives. Shorter cutlery knives (e.g. steak knives or paring knives) do not grip properly. The system looks good and works as advertised for large knives, they hold tight and don't come loose without lifting the handle.

This works great and protects our counter knives from small children. If you try to pull out the knife without using the latch, it won't slip out. I don't like that it doesn't fit the knives I really wanted to put in as they were too wide compared to the slots at the base. I also wish it could hold more knives instead of just six. The price is a bit high even for the installation of only 6 knives.

I can pull some of my serrated knives straight out with very little effort (baby power) even though they appear to be the same gauge as knives he is holding. With more force, I can pull many other 1 inches, enough to cut me. I really like this thing. A little more expensive than I think it should be but it looks just like the picture and really works. I bought this after my autistic 5 year old son started climbing on the counters to play with our knives. This locks them in so tightly that even my husband can't get the knives out with too much tension. My only complaint is that it doesn't hold enough knives. This is exactly what I was looking for. Our girls are seven and almost two years old and while the eldest is aware of the dangers of knives, the youngest is an acrobat and has recently begun to avoid all methods of child restraint known to man.
