Well! Although I'm left-handed and have a pen.

Good thing! Despite the fact that I'm left-handed and the handle is made with a slight grip under the right hand, the knife is good. feels comfortable in the hand (right is better, left is not so bad) and is fairly thin for clean/smooth cuts. keep sharp with whetstones.

worth your money.

This is a 5 star knife for two important reasons. price and performance. The ergonomics of this knife are great and it's a cutting demon. Not sure how theft will resist rust. I usually take very good care of my knives, so I probably won't find out. Even if it rusts on mine, I'm sure I'll get my money's worth from him before that ever happens. Oh, and as an added bonus, it seems to hold an insanely sharp edge pretty well. Given the cost of this knife, you can't go wrong adding it to your kitchen

The ideal bartender knife

I've been using this knife for about 7 years at the bar counter cutting side dishes. It took a minute to get used to the extra 1/2 inch it has over the standard bar knife, but now it's the perfect bartender knife in my opinion. Very sharp, holds the edge very well. The extra length makes it easy to slice an orange, for example, and leaves a perfectly even cut. The flat part of the handle prevents the knife from rolling away and the blade on the board prevents accidental blade stripping. Small…

Really impressive knife

The fit and finish of this knife is very good I have several expensive knives that don't look any better. The handle is longer and larger than many paring knives, which is a plus. Better than I expected from a $24-25 knife (although the price is much higher on some sites and under various Shun knife company names). The edge is also sharp out of the box, not really necessary but I'll probably sharpen the edge with a 1 micron polishing stone (just a habit). Couldn't pinpoint the exact steel but…

Great little knife, suitable for paring knives

I won't go into detail about this knife as from the many good reviews you can probably already tell it will be a good buy. I can tell you that I have kind of a knife obsession and when I was about to buy a new knife of this size I really didn't want to buy this (IMO) brand name knife. Considering such a price, I decided to take a risk and buy. I have to say I was very satisfied when I received the knife, the construction is very solid. What surprised me the most was the quality of the blade, as

Exceptional quality, great performance

I am shocked at what I got for the price. I already had Kai Wasabi Deba, Usuba and Yanagiba that I was happy with. But the blade size of the paring knife is *perfect*, absolutely razor sharp, and I've managed to keep it in perfect condition. I was even lazy enough (pity, I know!) to put this knife in the dishwasher. A short run on the sharpener and it glides over the tomatoes again. However, I do NOT recommend washing this knife in the dishwasher. It is very easy to hand wash. Just use a sponge

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

I love this knife and have several other Wasabi series.

I love this knife and have several other wasabi knives. This one had a grounding spike, so I'm taking a star for that. It is sharp like all Kai knives. It takes the sharpness like most high-end knives, but doesn't hold it as well as harder knives. It also doesn't splinter as easily as a harder knife. To make things a little clearer, since Kai USA doesn't seem to be selling their eponymous knives very well here in the US, Kai makes Shun. Kai has been making knives since 1908. They make Kershaw…
