Great Traction and Control on Trails

When I tried this tire, I was amazed at how well it handled in rocky terrain. The dual tread compound really gives great traction on loose soil and the side knobs help maintain control on off-camber sections. It's also very durable and holds up well to abuse. The only downside is that it's a bit heavy, but that's to be expected with a tire that's built to last.

Pros
  • Excellent traction on various terrains
Cons
  • Poor durability on rough terrain

Keep 'em Rolling Best in Tires

If you are looking for a fast off-road tire I would have no hesitation in buying this tire. A little more side profile could have been used for cornering in loose conditions, but overall the tire wobbles.

Pros
  • Directional Cyclocross Tires - Drive one direction for hard, reverse for soft; for front or rear use.
Cons

Soft road cyclocross/mountain bike

I've had a pair of these bikes for almost two years now. One of them almost wore off so I'm guessing about 1000 miles per tire max. It's a soft rubber so you get a good ride but less durability. The iron mantle is great. No flat surfaces, don't even pinch flat surfaces as they also reinforce the sidewall. I run them pretty low when mountain biking my "cross" bike at about 40psi. Rolls right over rocks and not too different from my full suspension MTB. Just don't try to hit them on the curbs at…

Pros
  • Max pressure: 85psi
Cons
  • Expensive
