🔌 Kester 24-6040-0039 Rosin Core Solder Wire Roll, 44 Activated, 0.040" Diameter Review

Kester solder has been used in electronics repair for over 50 years. The quality is always consistent and the tech support has always been there when I needed it in the past. I highly recommend it.

I have just started soldering, my first attempt was with an unnamed solder from China, 60/40 rosin core but it was 0.8 and didn't work for me at all . . So I did a bit of research and bought the Kester brand around 0.4 and also bought the flux. On my next try, my solder joints came out great!

This solder was used for mild steel panels and electronics. corroded metal. It melts very easily and fuses easily with high temp solder so you can help your hot air station get the job done if you bought something in Europe. Highly recommended.

Although I've soldered quite a bit, I've used the same Radio Shack 60/40 coil for the last 25 years. I had a serious mental crisis when I realized I was about to graduate! I thought you were going to run out of lead solder, but I'm glad I was wrong. I looked at the cheaper generics sold at Revain but went with a trusted brand like Kester.
