Excellent sodler. TERRIBLE PACKAGING!

I have different solder spools (lead, lead-free, etc.) for different purposes. Kester really screwed it up on the packaging. for this lot. The coil is not in a box with a top and bottom, but in a hexagonal box without a top. There is strapping at the top that holds the coil. Unfortunately, the tape sticks to the single label on the roll, so you can't remove the binding tape without ruining the label. a plastic tag around the solder to keep it on the spool. Shrink wrapping the entire roll can…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Never use lead-free solder again!

If you're like me you might think you're new to soldering. I keep lifting pads, making stupid connections, and just having a lousy, frustrating time soldering. Then I took a close look at the tools used. My iron was ok, Hakko FX-888D. Probably the best in the business for the average home soldering iron. Next up is the soldering. Lead-free rosin core. Hmm, could that be a problem? After receiving this leaded solder 63-37, I can say with confidence: yes, the problem is that it does not contain…

It's Kester! Melts like butter Hardens like steel (good for solder. lol)

What can I say? This is Kester Solder. soldering industry standard. It flows like butter, hardens like shiny steel. It just works. I mainly use it for soldering my drones and Arduino and Raspberry PI projects. Kester solder just works as long as you use the correct percentage and type recommended for your specific needs. I will never use lead free solder again. Using Kester always guarantees the highest quality possible, if failures are not due to that solder but to the solder, be it wrong…

Pros
  • So far happy
Cons
  • Only available in white

This rosin solder behaves exactly like solder without flux.

I don't know if I'm overheating or underheating but this stuff is supposed to activate like RMA. No, that is not so. I haven't changed the settings since using Indium 53563-0454 (which I think should be similar) and the two solders are completely different. I had to check the label to make sure it was 245 because it literally behaves like solder without the flux. I can't describe it any better. I bought it in case it was a good alternative. The solder sticks together, dries up, and the SMD…

Melts for your wires

I've been buying solder from Home Depot for years. Has always worked great, never had any problems. Then it started not working as it should. No matter how much I clean the ends. I couldn't tin them. It just bubbled up at the top and didn't cover. Even with new advice. I did the same with wires. I've been looking for the best soldering for months. Among other things, I found a Kester. Dropped out of the group I was looking at, this Kester would be the one. Ordered this kit and was surprised…

  • Tools and housewares
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

SMD RGB, IC, resistor MAD.

Great product. I have worked with Kester as an electrical engineer for over 35 years and the company has never let me down. This is a new item that I have used and I love that the flow rate is so fast that the components being soldered don't even have time to heat up, at least for me. The connections look better than the mechanical hot flux machines that mass produce circuit boards and other items. Always shiny, good smooth flow, no gaps, the pads on the boards don't heat up to remove the glue…

  • Welding and soldering
