Original old brushroll degraded to make sweeper-like sounds of Heritage II. I bought this as a last resort. It's wearable. It's installed. This solved the problem. So, in 1986, Kirby lives on. Works great. The brush looks exactly like the one Kirby Corp sends as a replacement. The new brushes are different from those that came with the new Heritage II models (the original had a metal case engraved with a number).

The knocking while vacuuming was unbearable! Even my two dogs ran outside when they saw me getting the vacuum cleaner out! It made an awful noise. With this new part I have a Kirby that sounds almost new again and cleans really well. The fit was perfect. Changing parts was quick and easy. My indicator works again after almost 15 years! I love my Kirby again and my dogs no longer run through the dog door to escape the knock! It's like a new vacuum cleaner with less motor stress!

I have an old Kirby and when I tried to vacuum the last one I found the roller was covered in hair and when I took it off the roll, it fell apart. The camps were shot.
