Kohler Engine Filter Extra Capacity Replacement Parts Review

Until now, a great mower hasn't stuck. I have not forensically disassembled this filter or sent oil samples for analysis, and never have.

Thought I bought new filters from the store. But no, where do you buy an oil filter that doesn't come in a box or some sort of packaging? The filters are all finished, filled with dust/dirt and one has rust on the inner metal! They must have sat on the shelf for years. A complete waste of money.

If you are looking for a suitable replacement online this may be for you. It's cheaper at Revain than anywhere else and doubles the price in some places. I learned something I didn't know before, which is to partially fill the new filter to the bottom thread and leave it installed for 2 minutes before installing. Since my filter screws in horizontally, I was skeptical at first, but I tried it. To my surprise, not a drop came out of the filter (although I ran it onto the thread pretty quickly)…
