upset. Maybe a manufacturer error?

Bought to start electronics in the US while living in Poland. The transformer worked in the office to run the slow cooker. I brought it home after the holiday, turned it on - the switch worked immediately. The device was not externally loaded and switched off! I connected a different transformer (not the brand my employer supplied) and no problem. After all that, the device still instantly turns the switch off when it's turned on. Looks like I've got a £25 doorstop now. By the time I realized…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Not bad but...

450W version weighs 5lbs instead of 4.3lbs. as listed here (350w version weighs 4.3lbs). Quiet: With no load, I have to put my ear close to the transformer to hear the hiss. Efficiency: without load it consumes a fraction of a watt, my kill wattmeter shows 0 watts. Quality: Solid design, with toroidal transformer. Steel base, aluminum plate. All screws are machine screws, not self-tapping screws. The switch is a double pole switch designed to turn off both "phase" and "neutral" when power is…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Interchangeable

I use this transformer in the United States to power an Italian Rancilio coffee maker and an Askaso grinder. It has enough power to deal with both at the same time. The coffee draws a maximum of 1100 watts of power, the grinder 200 watts. It also works great with my German blender. This thing is perfect for people living in the United States or other 110V/60Hz countries, or even vice versa if they want to move to a European 230V/60Hz country. 50 Hertz. The transformer works in both directions…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance

Worth the price, worked with Vitamix

Used it to convert from 220/240v to 110/120v while working abroad for about 8 months. It worked flawlessly with a Vitamix blender, Cuisinart poached egg machine, clothes steamer, large guitar amp, etc. I haven't tried anything else with the blender at the same time as based on amps (11.5) x volts (120) = Watt (1380), this corresponds to approximately 1700 watts for this item. I've never had any problems, although it includes an extra fuse just in case. It's very quiet (almost silent) and…

Runs quietly and doesn't get hot

I bought a Krieger 1150w voltage converter to use as a step-up transformer to convert 110v to 220v. I use it on studio monitors bought in Europe, not realizing that monitors don't have a 120/230 switch like my old ones have monitors. I live abroad and the return shipping cost was more than the cost of the monitors. Quite an oversight, "hey," but that's exactly what happened. So I scoured the web for Transformers after reading so many reviews many of which talked about "smells and smoke". But…

Four years of use during deployment in Europe

We have 5 of the 7 capacities (and half a dozen or more 150 watt units) offered by the Krieger Transformer , from 150 watts to 1700 watts. We are currently in the 4th year of a 7 year rollout in Belgium and I don't mind telling you that we miss our American devices more than anything. Okay, Costco, Sprouts, and Home Depot are also high on the missing list, but the point is, you live in Europe and you have some sort of American electronic device that far outstrips its European counterparts…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Don't like it at all, all great
