I bought these shorts for my son along with several other brands to compare. My son is almost 3 years old and very skinny (19" waist) so I bought them in a size 2T hoping they would fit my skinny little boy. and they do! I love that these are longer board shorts so they still hit above the knees and the waist is adjustable with a drawstring (with just enough for a comfy bow!) but also not too much fabric that wrinkle/weird looking.. For kids with normal Size I would therefore recommend ordering
