Not so effective, I keep cutting with scissors. Seems to work better with serrated/traumatic claws. I'm still looking for something that works.

Some scissors take longer to cut than others. It just depends on the condition of the scissors. I've sharpened all kinds of scissors with it, everything works fine. With other sharpeners I had trouble getting the angle of the cutting edge of the scissors right. This simple little gadget makes it easy. This sharpener has worked great for me, updating the sharp edge of the Wiss scissors I use it on. As another reviewer said, it only takes about 4 times if the edge is in pretty good condition, more for a more heavily worn edge. The only thing is the 7 or 8 inch scissors I used them on - I have another large 10 inch scissors - now it's not the sharpener's fault but the large scissors don't fit, the holes on the Sharpeners are not big enough.
