Precision Blades Become A Reality!

Based on my experience, this sharpener is truly a game-changer. The clamping system is simple and efficient, making it easy to sharpen even the dullest of blades. The abrasive and finishing products included are high quality and leave a smooth and sharp edge every time. However, the design can make it difficult to sharpen small blades. Overall, this product is a must-have for those in need of precision blades.

Pros
  • Efficiently sharpens knives and other blades.
Cons
  • Requires some knowledge on how to properly use a sharpening tool.

Does the job for the price

Does the job but needs some work to get accurate results lots of care to get an ACCURATE obtain BLADE. Although this is enough, it takes time to get a good result, so I bought a Veritas manual which, although more expensive, will help you get the job done faster. If your budget doesn't cover Veritas and you're willing to make the effort, this will work for you.

Pros
  • Good for wood chisel, plane, blade, engraver, carving knife, planer, flat chisel sharpening
Cons
  • So far so good

Having this product is worse than not having a sharpening guide at all because you will be tempted to use it and it to ruin blades. The soft brass roller on mine had deep grooves in the rolling surface that prevented the unit from rolling smoothly over the rock. The cheap main screw has poorly machined castings it dips into so the unit does not hold tight during use (it doesn't help that it's so bumpy with a rough brass roller.) The tool will not fit the very common Stanely 1" chisel - the design

Pros
  • Brass roller with ball bearings, moves back and forth without restriction when sharpening
Cons
  • Not sure
