Extremely disappointed

I'm really disappointed with this bottle. 2 main complaints.1. the filter makes drinking through a straw difficult - sucking on a straw literally puts a strain on your mouth and you still want to drink afterwards. The filter spoils the taste of water - the filter even spoils the taste of good water. I read so many great things about this bottle and was excited to try this company but was very disappointed. I bought this for a trip and it's the only bottle I took with me and now I only buy…

The stem is leaking and LifeStraw fixed my leak

The stem is leaking when closed securely and properly I am located in South America and cannot return or exchange this. I paid $44.95 and it is defective. Needless to say, I'm not too happy about it. Update: After discovering that my LifeStraw Go had expired, I was in South America and was unable to answer, return or exchange my LifeStraw Go. The 30 day guarantee has expired and I was unable to return this Revain. I contacted LifeStraw directly and Tiffany asked me to send some information and…

Sorry - this is not a very good product. I will not deny

Sorry this is not a very good product. I won't deny that I fell for the Lifestraw hype and the various achievements that come with the brand name, but this device does little to solve my problem: the filtering. I bought a water bottle for the sole purpose (I mean sole purpose) of filtering my scarce tap water. But the filter (the little round thing in the straw) makes the water flowing through it look like plastic. It's terrible. I tried to fix it by using vinegar and leaving it in the solution

  • Very good price

Indispensable when travelling!

This fantastic water bottle is a must-have for on the go! I bought it before my trip to Havana and I was very satisfied. I've filled it from every type of faucet in Cuba (public toilets, hoses, kitchen sinks) and haven't had any health issues - it definitely makes the water drinkable! It was a lot easier and less wasteful than looking everywhere for bottled water. A filter doesn't improve the taste at all, so don't expect pure spring water, but it will keep you disease-free. It also requires…

  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Expandable

This is the second bottle of straw I have. I threw away the first one because it was leaking. And here we are. First let me say that the Lifestraw original is a cool invention and the Lifestraw bottle is a great concept. I usually like to start without a straw in a (clean) bottle so I can get more fresh water from the start, only switching to the Lifesolow when needed (it's not easy to drink from, like sucking). a little thick milkshake, but that's the nature of the animal and much easier than…

Fixing the issue where water is not sucked well through a straw

This bottle worked as promised. No leaks as some have noted and sucked up water well on first use. There was a faint whistling sound that accompanied sucking water through the straw, but nothing stopped me from using the bottle. After two weeks of use, I air dried everything and put it away for storage. When I tried to use it again, the water wasn't getting sucked up through the straw. I contacted the company who provided the instructions below which resolved the issue. The bottle is fully…

I'm in Mexico and I love my Lifestraw!

I am in Tulum, Mexico 5 days after a 12 day peninsula trip and I had to write this review to say that Lifestraw is awesome! I take it to every restaurant and fill it up with whatever water they give me without worrying if it's filtered or tap water - best of all, I can put ice in it too! It's so hot and muggy here and I keep having to remind myself to drink, drink, drink, which is easier when the water is cold! So far, so good! No revenge Montesama! Fingers crossed! I bought both a Life Straw…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • There are some nuances

If you want a water bottle that is very difficult to siphon filtered water from, buy one. If you want a water filter bottle that will leak if dropped, buy one. If you want to avoid disappointment, snap an MSR recording and fill your water bottle with ease. I've been using the Sawyer Mini for several years now. In combination with my water bladder hose it is fantastic. But I don't always like using hydration bladders so I bought this LifeStraw Go water filter bottle thinking it would be great…

  • Durable finish

Try this if you have trouble sucking water through a straw

I've noticed mixed reviews about how easy it is to suck up water through a straw. Some users say it's not that bad, others say it's very difficult. When I received my bottle I fell into the latter category. My face hurt after a few sips. If you remove the charcoal filter from the top at all, it's very easy to draw water through the straw. If you have a straw that is difficult to pull through, you can try the following little tweak to see if it helps you. After this small adjustment, using a…

Filter fails when not in use

So I'm testing some water treatment methods for a hike I'm leading around TRT next year. This bottle is my first experiment and I received it yesterday. Today I opened a bottle of LifeStraw Go, read all the directions and followed them to the letter. I'll admit I'm nervous as this filter isn't good enough to filter viruses like the big LifeStraw filters and some other water bottle brands. Therefore, without this possibility, I would not rate a bottle with more than 4 stars. Anyway, I stopped at
