For example how it filters

I love the way this filter filters, but it is very difficult to suck water through the filter. My mouth hurts after a few hours of use.

Pros
  • Annual Trial
Cons
  • The list is getting long.

Bad product in camping

It is very difficult to drink after 2 days. The amount of water you can actually drink is so small, you'd have to suck on a watch to quench 32 ounces. Not a fan at all!

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Help end the plastic pollution pandemic!

I'm so glad I'm embarking on a life without plastic bottles! I teach my students about microplastics and how we must do everything we can to prevent plastic from entering the oceans, so I'm happy to announce that I now have a bottle of LifeStraw!

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • There are downsides

Tastes like chemicals even after washing

says it was washed first but still bad taste called the straw of life and pulled it out through water still tastes like chemicals. I saw online how to soak the filter in warm water overnight which doesn't work

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Some flaws

Poor mechanics but good filter

Straw is almost impossible to drink, actually I would only prefer water with bacteria. Unless you have the power of a god's jaw; Weigh your chances. It takes about 30 minutes to empty a bottle (I'm the type of person who fills up a liter in about 30 seconds). I really can't put into words how much I hate that straw.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I'll write later

A must for short day hikes.

I wear this on all my day hikes. Recently I ran out of water and had to drink melted snow. It gave me comfort that the water I drank was safe and filtered. You could probably scoop water out of a mud puddle and drink it if you must, although the idea is to look for the purest water you can find and then use it.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs

Water cannot be sucked in through a straw!

Absolutely useless. I'm so angry I spent my money on this thing. I took it with me on trips abroad, knowing I would be visiting areas where clean water could be an issue. When I got back from the trip it was too late to go back. I understand that the water has to go through a rigorous filtering process and therefore the flow of water through the straw can be reduced. But no matter how hard I sucked on that stupid thing, I could barely get any water out. I've tried gently biting the tip like…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Unreliable

Filter turns off when not in use

So I'm testing a few water purification methods for the trek I'm leading around TRT next year. This bottle is my first experiment and I received it yesterday. Today I opened a bottle of LifeStraw Go, read all the directions and followed them to the letter. I'll admit I'm nervous as this filter isn't good enough to filter viruses like the big LifeStraw filters and some other water bottle brands. Therefore, without this possibility, I would not rate a bottle with more than 4 stars. Anyway, I…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived
