Incorrectly grooved cutting board shown

I bought this from Revain for $15. Size 12x8. I didn't want grooves like in the photo. I was pleasantly surprised when the cutting board arrived. It was the exact same cutting board I already had! It has a butcher block on top and grooves on the bottom for handles. I don't use both sides of a cutting board. I always want to know which side is up (cut) and I don't like creases. Arrived very dry. Use some Goo Gone or rubbing alcohol to remove any remaining stickers. I use Butcher Block Cleaner…

Amazing board for the price, with a bit of tweaking

Bought this board as a "starter board" for good cutting boards (e.g. non-indestructible plastic or bamboo) and it has been working for 6 months now with no problems! removed the googo-gon sticker (used as per the instructions which include some time when googo-gon is on the goo) and there were no major issues. I oiled the board with mineral oil it felt like 20 times the first few days until it stopped absorbing the oil straight away then I oiled it about every month from then. I also sanded it,

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Safety

The fee is reasonable from all sides, especially when you consider the price. I've only had it a day and it's currently lubed so I can talk about its performance or durability. This is a solid board with a decent weight. The joints appear to be subtly contracted. It's a bit rough in a few spots but nothing that a light sanding wouldn't fix if I felt it was necessary. The color is great and the board feels well oiled from the start. He didn't want to take much, so tomorrow I just drained it and…

Good board turned great after a bit of DIY

The only two downsides (so far) to this board are, as everyone else has mentioned, the label and a bit of savings in finishing. Vegetable oil was applied to the glue, left for a few minutes and wiped with soap and a sponge. Mineral oil would probably work as well, but it should still appear on the board. Second, since the board was a bit rough around the edges, particularly in the sap groove and grips, I used a 1000 grit to do some light hand rubs all over the board (probably overdone, but…

Functional, beautiful and affordable!

I bought a 12×8 board first as it was the cheapest and probably the size I will use most. I was so impressed with the quality that I immediately bought a larger one. If you remove a decal before using it, I highly recommend using Goo Gone on the remaining decal and then applying some soap and water to the entire board. This will leave your board sparkling clean and ready to be oiled. Allow your board to dry overnight, then apply 1-2 coats of mineral oil followed by 1-2 coats of beeswax wood…

Great board but those damn sticky labels! (+update)

This is the perfect board size for everyday use such as slicing vegetables, meat etc. The trailing edge should be lighter on my knives to keep their blades sharper and longer. - Nick! All parts are seamlessly connected to each other. Surfaces are very smooth. Not that it matters when it comes to slicing and chopping, but this board is beautiful to look at and looks great standing at the end of my counter. But I have a complaint! There was a large round label on the back of the board. It came…

Rough, cracked and sticky

As I suspect for many people, the pandemic has led to - much more - home cooking, and after two months (yes, I'm a little slow on absorbing ), I thought I could use a cutting board. I bought one of the OXO plastic boards and it's fine, but I was concerned about the effect it would have on my knives. Did a little research and found recommendations for teak planks. I've looked around and some of them are very expensive but this Lipper model was in my price range for a small board and had good…
