🔧 Lisle 24800 Seal Installation Tool Review

As described. This set of Lisle drivers was what I expected. I have been buying Lisle products for many years and have never been disappointed. This set is for seals only! Don't rely on bearings or bushings as adapters are made of plastic.

The black washers you see in the picture are made of plastic! This renders the product completely useless as the tool will absorb hammer blows if you try to hammer the gasket. Of course I would never buy a plastic tool if it was mentioned anywhere in the description.

Another reviewer complained that they are plastic. This is some nonsense! They are durable enough for gaskets, especially with a steel backing plate to take the brunt of each flex. You certainly don't want something that can push out the hole you're pressing the gasket into. I think these plastic rims are ideal as they need to be softer than even aluminum if a puncture or seal is to fail. The name says it all. I have other Lisle tools that work great so I had high hopes for this gasket screwdriver set, especially since it has adapters for working with shielded gaskets (ie protruding rubber dust shields). But, unfortunately, this product turned out to be terrible in many respects.
