Like many reviewers here, 2 out of 3 cartridges I received were not properly loaded. The plastic starts in the middle of the sleeve and out of 14 feet of plastic I had to pull 8 feet over half the sleeve out of the dispenser to find the end. I was able to reload the first cartridge by rolling the case, but it didn't eject properly. For the second cartridge, after removing the plastic wrap completely, I simply tied a knot in one end, rolled up the rest of the roll and tied another knot to make…

Do not buy this item as it is often defective. I will add my voice to what has already been said many times. Of the last 6 refills I bought, 2 were defective. As others have said, finding the end of a plastic bag is impossible. What you end up pulling out of the container is not the end of the package, rather the package has doubled in size with no end in sight. By the time you find the end of the bag, you've taken so much out of it (maybe you've taken all of it) that refilling becomes useless…

This is a very good product however it has some small quirks which may annoy some people. The device is too heavy, when trying to open the lid to replace or load a new case, it may be difficult to keep the device upright. The hole you drop the trash into is a bit small and you may have to break a bigger bag. We've been ordering these refills for a long time - unfortunately you need to open the packaging right away and inspect each refill to make sure it's ok. We're very lucky if we get a whole box of working cartridges. When we have a bad one, we usually get by and just lose a bunch of bags. When I first started using Litter Genie I loved the concept of using these bags to get rid of dirty litter. It was way better than using plastic bags. However, I always had problems with the initial filling of these bags. With a 3-pack, I often ended up with a spare fill that was at least half useless because the bag wasn't unrolling as it should. completely useless. Good point: These cartridges fit the Cat Genie litter box. They *usually* go flat, tie easily, and haven't ripped open for me without proper warning. I think they control smell adequately, but since I keep the genie in the same room as the trays themselves, this is hard to test. You might find that the Genie module itself is pretty cheap.
