If you are looking for a nail gun, this is the one for you.

Having used this gun 5 days a week for 4 months I can say this is the best I have found at any price. It is light, powerful and simply feels good. It has all the features you could want like quick nose access to clear jams (which I've never used before), easy depth adjustment and dry fire lockout. Whilst it is very light the quality was evident from the first use and it is very strong whether it is 1 inch thick white oak and walnut nails or a much softer material. If I had to criticize, the…

Pros
  • Nail locking mechanism protects tools and work surface from dry fire
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

The design has some issues

I work as a contractor and use a nailer several times a week. My 20 year old porter cable was stuck and didn't have time to fix it so I did a little research and settled on this Makita. Big mistake. Everything about this gun feels great in hand, but I have two big issues with it. 1. It doesn't use your entire stack of loaded nails. There are always about 6-8 nails left before reloading is required. I called Makita and they explained that this is normal and that it is necessary to protect the…

Pros
  • Magnesium alloy body, MAGAZINE aluminum and barrel ensure strength and durability
Cons
  • Exorbitant price

Lightweight but powerful.

Very light for such a large nailer, this gun drives 2 1/2" nails with ease. I prefer the aluminum magazine over the gun the new fancy plastic designs and the nail guide glides smoothly and firmly. The trigger is also smooth without the judder that some cheaper models exhibit and the sequential trigger selector is just as smooth.I only use Lucas Air Tool Oil after years of using others ..Lucas Oil really sticks to the parts and never knocks out like some oils do.For new guns I add 10-15 drops of…

Pros
  • Toolless" depth adjustment for more accurate flush nailing and countersinking
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen
