Good Drill Mixer

This guy is a beast! I needed a special blending drill bit because I was tired of burning my Makita 18V bits while mixing and drilling. This thing mixes a 5 gallon solution very quickly. I like variable speed so you can slow them down for mortar so you don't drench them with air. Just today at work I used it to drill a 5 1/2 inch diameter hole in 10 inches of a 150 year old pine foundation box and it did it without fail. It didn't even slow down

Pros
  • Well balanced design weighing only 6.2 lbs. to reduce operator fatigue
Cons
  • Requires socket

Sturdy hardware

Very strong and durable. We needed something to mix the grout for our bathroom renovation and this drill gets the job done with little effort for the drill or me. We originally bought a HF 1/2" disposable drill based on recommendations on several forums, but it smoked after a few seconds and was unusable. We then rented a drill from a hardware store and realized the cost would go up .quick given our pace of work which is why we invested in this Makita drill press, one of the best decisions we…

Pros
  • D-handle rotates 360 degrees with 24 stops for multi-position operation
Cons
  • I will add later

The rotation spins out of control until the cable snaps

The trigger locking is not secure. We used small worm holes in it for plant plugs. Several people accidentally activated the trigger lock. The auger was then sucked into the ground until it got stuck, pulled out of the operator's grips, the power cord coiled up, and finally the cord ripped apart at one point in the line. All the while he loses his temper for a few seconds, spinning and hitting the operator who is desperately trying to regain control. It's especially scary to throw the cord over

Pros
  • Powerful 8.5Amp variable speed motor for better mixing and drilling performance
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
