Well designed, durable and easy to use

The most important thing for me is the locking of the tripod legs when adjusting to a certain height. The locking mechanism is a lever, not a thumbscrew. It's easy to use, fast and reliable. The tripod is durable; I mainly use it with the Bushnell Spacemaster Scope. It's a little pricey, but it does the job well.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Functionality

SCRAP for tripods and monopods

What nonsense! The leg fell off. ON TWO DIFFERENT DEVICES. This is a clear flaw in the model. And of course this happens after the return window has expired, which is why Revain won't let me return it. Now I have to deal with Manfrotto who makes me pay to send it to them for repair and it will take 2 months to send it back. I just want to move on to the best tripod that won't fail in just a few months. So disappointed in Manfrotto. DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY

  • The best in its niche

We love Manfrotto but legs accidentally fall off

We love the Manfrotto but legs accidentally fall off. Come on, I just want to buy a quality tripod. Please fix this issue or I'll switch to another brand. I've bought over $1,500 worth of tripods this year alone - why would I balance $7,000 worth of gear on something that accidentally breaks a leg? This was done on 3 separate tripods. SOLVE THIS PROBLEM, please. Their tripods are strong until the leg breaks and the gear falls to the ground. This is unacceptable.

Pros
  • Hands Free
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Legs lose tension over time

I have had 3 of these tripods in the last 5 years. I want to love the product, but unfortunately, after intensive use, the tension in the legs decreases over time, so the legs do not stay open even after tightening the screws. When it's new everything is very fast and tight, but after I've used it all the parts start to wear out. Simple screws that must be tightened to maintain tension can no longer be tightened. This is really disappointing. My next tripod will not be Manfrotto.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Good but not great

Good combination of strength and light weight

Excellent tripod! The fluid head is a real asset that is easy to use. The lever (E) on my tripod [not to be confused with the friction ring on the head, also labeled (E)] completely blocks any movement of the column. This tripod is almost as stable as my old Bogen 3030/Bogen 3063 head tripod, but weighs less than half the weight. If you're already packing a heavy Tamrac bag with a pro DSLR, motor drive and 7 lenses, any weight saving is welcome.

  • Certified

Big and strong: full tripods

This is not a compact or light tripod, but it is very strong and powerful. Suitable for even the largest cameras, it should be able to handle everything but large pro camcorders. Two padded sections make the tripod more comfortable in cold weather. I've always liked the speed of the lever leg locks, not the ones that require loosening the gorget. The ball head is easy to adjust and works faster than a standard grip ball head. It locks very securely when needed. The quick release buckle is madeโ€ฆ

Expensive. but worth every penny!

I've been hearing about Manfrotto gear for years but never before could afford it. I've always been looking for a cheaper alternative. Never. This tripod and moving head are the perfect combination. Earthquakes won't disturb my kids' soccer games anymore! I needed a smoother head to shoot my son's high school football games and a taller tripod, and this setup fits those needs perfectly. The tripod is solid and has some weight, but you need a solid base for reliable shooting. This tripod andโ€ฆ

An excellent tripod head combination for use with .

Summary: An excellent tripod and head combination for use with a spotting scope for nature observation. I bought this Manfrotto tripod to use with a birding spotting scope. I use a large and heavy 20-60x-85mm Vortex Viper scope. This tripod is perfect. About two months before the purchase I used two different tripods/heads. First I used a rental from a local camera shop. I don't remember the make or model but it was aluminum with two extensions and a three way head. It did the job but the headโ€ฆ

Excellent scope support at this price level.

I bought this unit specifically for use with a Vanguard Endeavor HD 82A spotting scope which I recently bought for birding because my previous tripod and head which I used for a DSLR was were very painful. insufficient. The general consensus when it comes to spotting scopes is that a scope is only as good as the tripod it is mounted on and therefore, as with the optics themselves, you should spend as much as possible on a tripod. . After spending as much as I could on the oscilloscope, the $300
