Not sure if they work or not.

I don't know how good they are because I haven't used them in a canister filter. I use a HOB Tetra i40 filter and there is room for these balls in the filter slot because they are actually very small, about the size of a ping pong ball. Anyway, I'm not sure if it's really that great or not, because I have activated charcoal, a scratch filter and a sponge filter in this shaft. but it's inexpensive and I wanted to try it as I have a small patio pond that is outside and gets a lot of dirt and…

great filter media

I've been using them in aquariums and goldfish ponds for years to give bacteria room to grow. Your size is just right for a ten or so behind the filter pad and back of my outboard filter. . I like doing this because it encourages bacteria to grow on the balls and not the replacement pads. When pads are replaced, they help carry the bioburden. They also help with undetected dead snails or fish releasing ammonia. I see it as insurance, because the more bacteria can live and possibly multiply, the

Really working balls covered in nasty, dirty slime

I love balls. Water and oxygen don't flow through these microslits and nanoholes once the biofilm covers them, so you only have the surface of the object itself. They seem to work well for all my aquariums - I use them with Fluval 305/6 filters in heavily planted and VERY crowded aquariums where 8-10 times the volume of the tank is moving per hour. They don't clog, they're always covered in an ugly slimy stain of bacteria that never killsly stinks, and the water is so clear you'll never realize

Not the best but good for the price

This is my first time buying bio balls for the marina so this is a general review of this bio ball model. mm, 225 standard bioballoons equals 1 gallon, you need 300 of them to fill 1 gallon. Regular mini bioballs from China (which cost $1-20 for $1) are 15mm, so these marina bioballs are somewhere between standard and mini bioballs in size. from a bundle of small thin tubes or are full spheres, hollow and with a small sponge inside. They are full spheres but the ribs are all in the same…
