Suitable for Yamaha VMax Sho 200HP

Easy to install. FYI: The manufacturer recommends using 50 ft-lbs of torque with a dial ratchet. Suitable for Yamaha Vmax Sho 2011-12 200hp 4-stroke.

Pros
  • One year trial version
Cons
  • Something else

Does not fit Yamaha F90

McGard website says 74040 fits Yamaha. Well not the F90 outboard as the lock nut is larger than the shaft. Many thanks to Revain for the quick and efficient return.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • High price

Didn't rotate the prop like so many who have had problems.

This went smoothly in about 5 minutes and the screw didn't come loose how many had problems. You don't have to have tightened it properly. This isn't rocket science. It gives me a lot of peace of mind compared to its cost. It's worth it. I just hope I can keep an eye on the distance mom when I need her the most.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Finally found the right fit

I needed a padlock to secure this $800 piece of stainless steel. The lock came in easily and tightened up to 50 foot-pounds with no difficulty. Deducted one star because I originally ordered the wrong model. I have a 90hp Yamaha and the 74040 should have fitted but it was too big. Nowhere does it say what size I need. After a lot of trial and error, 74056 came to my engine. This is M16.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Seemed like a great idea

Seemed like a great idea. The wrong washer was packed when the lock was installed. Since I was launching the boat, I had to use an existing washing machine. Eventually I was able to touch the ground with McGuard and was told I would have to change the puck as the prop could fall off. This is a pain as I don't have a boat trailer and I have to get creative on how to do this with the boat in the water. All I got from the company was a new washing machine and "sorry".

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Not sure

Hard to find in Fort Myers.

I've been searching all over town (Fort Myers) for this item. Neither of the bodies had it. you would order. But why pay the list price and VAT and wait a week? I ordered it from Revain and received it within a few days. Free shipping over $25. And I bought it MUCH cheaper than the local stores (who didn't stock it). I mean, WTH, this is Fort Myers, Florida. Boat sharing and you don't have a lock for a 115hp Suzuki outboard. 2006 edition? Product: High quality and easy to install. I sleep…

Prop Lock 74040 on tires and wheels

There is a thick stainless steel bushing on the outside that is free to rotate if someone tries a pipe wrench on it. The brass nut is tightened on a slightly concave stainless steel washer. There is no hex on the brass nut. The brass nut has small notches that fit your wrench. The wrench has teeth that fit into slots and a hex piece for your wrench. Be careful to keep internal pressure on the bushing to prevent the wrench from popping out and damaging the grooves in the brass nut. The nut is…
