I really liked these shoes on my granddaughter (I bought her two pairs of different sizes. They are not tight and have nice grippy material on the heel and foot area on the soles). The nursery said they weren't providing enough support, so another grandmother bought her lace-up ankle-length shoes. The shoes are very cute, I only had to downsize because the ones I originally received were huge. The problem with boots is that the insert inside the boot doesn't stay on the sole of the boot. It shifts sideways which is why my child walks with a very flat foot. Babies don't have stable, strong feet, so the fact that the shoe's insole slides sideways makes their feet much more unstable and poorly placed.
