Very sharp out of the box

This knife was as sharp as my chef's knife from the Global box. Only used it to trim fat off two New York straps and heck four chicken thighs but so far so good. I find it really hard to believe people who say their meat lost its spiciness just because the fat was cut off the frigging breast.

  • Handy

Amazing item for the price!

Bought to butcher deer for my dog! The first stag took a while but I had this knife for the second round and it made a world of difference! Cuts through any tissue like butter, I was amazed at how little pressure it takes to cut with this knife! I have bad hands and this has made my life so much easier, I'm so glad I bought it.

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • Low maintainability

Super sharp, comfortable grip, good value for money.

This knife is very sharp and I keep reaching for it. Ideal for slicing steaks and chops, butchering chicken or filleting fish. The blade is a bit thicker and stiffer than a regular boning knife, so this takes a little getting used to when you're used to a very flexible knife. Excellent value for money and quality.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Hard to say

Great cleaver!

I've never had a boning knife and I've always had a hard time carving up a turkey and also trying to butcher a chicken on Thanksgiving. This knife is awesome! I'm so glad I bought it. It will make my life a little easier when cooking. It's really sharp, feels good in the hand and at this price you can't ask for more. Take it, you won't regret it.

Ideal for cutting large pieces of meat!

My husband and I smoked a ton of meat when we ordered this such as brisket and tenderloin, our paring knives that we tried to use to cut these large cuts of meat didn't quite cut. This knife is a great find for your money! Works great, after reading the reviews we are very careful not to get our fingers in the way!

Not bad for the price.

Why 4 instead of 5 stars? The grip on the handle was ok but not great. The blade was relatively sharp, but needed to be sharpened much sharper for it to work as intended. I don't know if it was just sloppy Chinese factory work or if they left it a bit sharp so nobody cuts off the appendage they're happy with. After sharpening it properly the steel isn't bad and holds an edge pretty well. Everything is also fine with the flexibility of the blade. For the price this is a good knife. If MFG…

Pros
  • Bread knife
Cons
  • Almost everything ok

Overview of several knives.

It is difficult to rate a Mercery knife on Revain as I have 3 knives and you can only rate 1 review as all reviews for these products are combined. Stupidity. because you can't accurately measure the success or failure of a particular knife. Unfortunately I will write my review of 3 knives here in this 1.1 review.
