Beware the sun

This is a good unit for a single din unit. Although after 7+ uses. The sun began to burn and the plastic melted and the gaze began to bow. Also, the vinyl began to peel off as it blistered over time. So for new installers. Sand the kit down and paint it black, you'll save yourself cosmetic problems in the future.

Pros
  • Includes a storage pouch under the radio
Cons
  • I will add later

Looks like a standard part (Some of the reviews I read said the color and fit were wrong but didn't find this to fit very well and finished without any modifications. A small pocket under the stereo is a nice bonus. My stereo had to be ISO mounted so make sure you have the screws for ISO mounts handy. Most Stereos are supplied with them.

Pros
  • Made in USA
Cons
  • No

Beware! Not standard DIN hole!

I recently received this kit to pair with a Pioneer DEH-80PRS and the Metra owner's manual lists a DIN mount with a picture of the radio in the front position. But the only way to mount my DIN sized radio is from the back because the hole is 6-3/4" while the DIN standard is 7-1/8". Now the problem is that when I open my front panel I can't insert a CD because the handle hits the plastic. They didn't make it a standard DIN hole so you can adjust the depth of the radio using the ISO screw…

Pros
  • Factory painted dash color
Cons
  • Not sure
