Metra 99 9300 BMW 97 05 Dash Review

I had to cut and trim to make the single din flip touch screen radio work with this kit. I got it working and it turned out great, but I don't recommend anyone trying this if you have a flip screen radio unless you're using an angle grinder.

Metra 99-9300 for BMW worked fine for me. I wouldn't say it's the ideal solution. I had to throw away the frame that came with my Pioneer BT 320 receiver in order for the unit to fit the Metra adapter. I'm sure if product designers thought about it they would come up with something better than this somewhat flimsy adapter. But it worked. This face has a few flaws: 1. It's more of a cosmetic cover than an adapter, the instructions tell you to first install the rectangular metal cage that comes with your stereo is supplied and glue the stereo in place. However, on the BMW E46, the hole doesn't provide enough room to push out the necessary lugs for a secure fit, in my experience it moves a bit. (Some other brands require you to plug your stereo into an adapter and then plug in the entire unit, which attaches like an OEM deck). 2…
