Description of πŸš— Enhance Your Car Audio: Metra Electronics 40-VW10 Factory Antenna to Aftermarket Radio Adapter for Audi/BMW/Mercedes/SMART Vehicles

Factory Antenna to Aftermarket Radio Adapter. For select 1988-2005 Audi/BMW/Mercedes vehicles. Factory antenna with flat plug to aftermarket radio. A capacitor is included to match impedance. Some newer European radios also have capacitors that do not allow this adapter to work properly (try using 40-VW12).

2011 Ford Transit Connect

I don't know why all the finder apps for this car say this car needs a different adapter but it is the one that fits the earlier Transit Connects

Installation made easy for the first time!

This review refers to some items that have been copied into each product review. I recently purchased a Boss Audio Systems BV9351B Boss Audio Double-Din, Bluetooth, DVD/CD/USB/MP3/Wma, FM/AM Receiver for my 2008 Smart Fortwo Convertible and I love it! This is such an upgrade of the standard head unit. The reason I switched to this device is to add Bluetooth/USB ports for charging. I think the device itself is a bargain for the price. Some of the best aspects are the responsive touchscreen, ease

2008 Smart and Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX

I bought a Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX with HD radio. HD Radio was not played because the antenna was not connected. When I tried to connect the 2008 Smart car's antenna, I saw that it was not connected properly because the Pioneer radio had a deep indentation (about 2 inches) for the antenna and the 2008 Smart car's connection was about half that size. Customs service. I used this antenna adapter to connect a Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX to a 2008 smart car antenna and it worked great.

Pros
  • For select 1988-2005 Audi/BMW/Mercedes
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Without them it would be impossible to update the sound system!

As a warning to anyone replacing the factory audio system on Ford Focus and many other post 2000 vehicles, be aware that many use a European snap on antenna connector! Thus, it took an additional three days to complete the radio installation as most aftermarket systems use a BNC antenna cable. There were several options for the Revain, but just in case the existing cable was short I went with this one, which also worked great. There was a bit more, but there's plenty of room behind the dash and

Metra 40-VW10 for antennas

This is just an echo of Gerardo's review. I also used it on a '97 BMW 328. It snapped securely onto the BMW connector and plugged into the back of our new JVC head unit. Other reviews say that BMW vehicles with antenna boosters and rear window antennas don't work well with aftermarket head units, but they seem to work well, even with FM. I also used a Metra seat belt adapter for BMW. plug and play Everything worked great. I should also note that the post office lost my order. When it didn't…

Perfect for installing a 2001 Pontiac Bonneville stereo

If you have a GM car with that horrible antenna cable and you need an adapter for your secondary stereo. This is the way! I have a 2001 Pontiac Bonneville and installed the radio many years ago. There was only one way. A Volkswagen adapter that didn't go well with the end of the Pontiac. You had to use tape or whatever you could find to secure it in place. This design is definitely the best! This adapter's plug, which fits into a GM factory outlet, has a cross engraved on the outside of the…
