Suitable for wide flat feet

These shoes are comfortable for my flat and wide feet. The only downside is that they're nowhere near as good as Mizuno's top motion control trainer, the long-discontinued Wave Renegade 3.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Good comfort and support but disappointing durability

The shoes are very comfortable and provide good support, but after only owning them for a month and having subjected them to only a dozen walks with my baby in the stroller, started wearing the material apart from the top hem of the boot around my right ankle. I don't know if this is a common problem with this shoe or if I just got a bad example, but to me this is an unacceptably low level of durability for such an expensive shoe. I was hoping the buy-once-cry approach would be worth it, but…

Good comfort and support but disappointing durability

The shoes are very comfortable and provide good support but having only had them for 1 month and having only exposed them to a dozen walks with my baby in the stroller, are the material has started to separate from the top hem of the boot around my right ankle. I don't know if this is a common problem with this shoe or if I just got a bad example, but to me this is an unacceptably low level of durability for such an expensive shoe. I was hoping the buy-once-cry approach would be worth it, but…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

No paradox or alchemy

I'm an experienced runner and overpronator and need a shoe for motion control and stability. I've been a Mizuno fan for almost 20 years, but I found the Horizon shoes extremely uncomfortable. Unlike Paradox or Alchemy, I endured excruciating pain on the outer edges/areas of both feet with Horizon. This has happened to Mizuno standard insoles, Sole Dean Karnaze orthotic insoles and Vionic Active orthotic insoles within a few weeks. The pain felt like a hot knife cutting through the outer edges…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Too soft but very comfortable

Years have passed since Mizuno running shoes had a very stiff sole. The stiff midsole makes running faster, more stable and, in my opinion, much more fun. Many major sneaker brands are now producing shoe models with a very soft midsole and new "breakthrough foam". These foams are a trick for me; just a rush to sell more shoes during a "gentle" wave (a few years ago there was a "minimal wave" - cushioning in the shoe was almost non-existent - I don't think it ended well for many runners). Now…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Not bad
