Disappointing Transmission Filter, Waste of Money

As a result of using this product, I found that it did not fit properly, causing issues with my transmission. The only positive aspect was the price, but it ended up being a waste of money due to the poor quality. Save yourself the hassle and choose a different brand.

Pros
  • Effective in filtering out contaminants, extending the life of the transmission
Cons
  • Potential for clogging and decreased flow rate due to dense filter material

Original transmission part for 6r60 transmission of my 2006 Explorer.

Original part for 6r60 gearbox in my 2006 Explorer. I installed a new baffle fitting and decided that if I had to drain the fluid I would put in a new filter. The original filter O-ring slipped off the filter and got stuck in the gearbox. I used a small 90 degree pick to pry out the filter o-ring. I used a Plews 55001 Lubrimatic Fluid Quart Pump to fill the transmission with gear oil.

  • I don't like it, it's ok

The dealer said this was normal behavior but that wasn't a plausible answer. I've drained and refilled, changed the filter and cleaned the transmission pan (no drain plug) and now the transmission is silky smooth and…
