Very good stone: whetstones

Both the 5000 and 2000 feel the same, they are both a bit sticky but as the 2000 has a lower grit has, he has great feedback. On the other hand, the 5000 does have a bit of a learning curve, with the amount of pressure applied being the key to success. This stone will also benefit from a Slurry stone of the same grit or higher.

Pros
  • Accessories: toilet stone (cleaning stone) 65x47x32mm 1pc
Cons
  • Only available in black

Chosera 5000 - not as good as other lower grit stones!

I love chosera stones and I love the base. I'm not impressed with the 5000. I have two Naniwa Chosera 400, 800 and 1000 bricks, a 2000 Naniwa Pro (no base), a Chosera 3000 and this Chosera 5000. Love all the other bricks. This 5000 stone doesn't look much better than the 3000 and feels dirty. It also seems to drink. I don't like feedback. Maybe it needs better disassembly. I've tried Nagura stones but only the cheap synthetic ones you can find on Amazon. I haven't tried soaking. Maybe it will…

Pros
  • For finishing.
Cons
  • Available in white only

3 stars. just be honest

I don't understand what the noise is. I have to say I really like the 400 grit and the 1k is good too. This 5k brick was not my favorite. This rock was VERY thirsty! Not what I would call splash and go. It required a LONG soak, longer than 400. In fact, I had trouble keeping it wet for quite a while. It got annoying. I kept getting weird air pockets and bubbles between the bottom of the stone and the base. It makes no sense that this stone is almost black, let alone in the picture, it's not…

Pros
  • Grit: 5000
Cons
  • Requires a socket
