The tie is fine and that's because when I measured it I saw that its shading was less than 3 1/2 inches. I'm not the type to look good in those tight laces on my shoes. In terms of texture, I'm hoping to find a silky smooth finish. However, I do like the knot when it's tied.

Very nice, strong, well tailored tie. A little wider than expected but very nice. I was disappointed to finally open it while dressing for the event it was purchased for, there was a long diagonal crease down the front of the tie. Didn't have time to do anything about it so had to wear it and now it has alcohol stains so unlikely to be returned. Now it's folded, I hope I can smooth out the sad looking crease. Update: I've worn the tie 4 times now and the threads on the loop holding the back tie
